Preview Search Filter Results

You can preview the results of the search filters you have selected. Previewing search results is helpful when testing a newly created address list or when using custom searches involving an LDAP filter. You can choose different columns to see different aspects of address list members.

To preview the results of the search filters you selected:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. In the console tree, double-click Recipients, and then double-click All Address Lists.
  3. In the details pane, right-click the address list you want to view, and then click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, click Modify.
  5. In the Find dialog box, select Find Now. The address list members will appear in the results list pane.
  6. To choose columns that will display different details of address list members, select the View menu, and then click Choose Columns.
  7. To add columns, in the Choose Columns dialog box, select the items in the Columns available list, and then click Add. Repeat this step for each column you want to add.
  8. To remove columns, in the Choose Columns dialog box, select the items in the Columns shown list, and then click Remove. Repeat this step for each column you want to remove.
  9. To remove a field-level attribute you have selected, select the attribute from the box in which it is listed, and then click Remove.
  10. To clear all of the field-level attributes you have selected, click Clear All.
