Managing Recipient Settings

Delete or Rename an Address List

With the exception of the default Global Address List, you can delete custom address lists and default address lists.

You can also change the name of an address list you have created. Be sure to use a name that reflects address list membership because your users will see this name when choosing an address list from the Address Book.

To delete or rename an address list:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. In the console tree, double-click Recipients, and then double-click All Address Lists.
  3. To delete an address list, in the details pane, right-click the address list you want to delete, and then click Delete.
  4. Note   If you delete an address list and then decide that you want to use that list again, you must recreate it using the appropriate filters.

  5. To rename an address list, in the details pane, right-click the address list you want to rename, and then click Rename. Type the new name of the address list.
