Designate a Primary Connection Agreement
Primary Connection Agreements replicate existing directory objects and create new directory objects in the destination directory. A Connection Agreement that is not primary replicates information only to pre-existing objects.
Important To ensure new objects are created, Connection Agreements are designated as primary Connection Agreements by default.
To modify the primary Connection Agreement settings for a Connection Agreement:
Select or clear This is a Primary Connection Agreement for the connected Exchange Organization.
Select this option to specify which Connection Agreement will create new directory objects in the Exchange directory when ADC determines that no matching objects exist. If this option is not selected, the Connection Agreement does not create new objects in the Exchange directory, but replication between existing objects still occurs.
Note Public folder Connection Agreements are always primary Connection Agreements for the Exchange organization, and you cannot change this setting.
Select this option to specify which Connection Agreement creates new directory objects in Active Directory when ADC determines that no matching objects exist. If this option in not selected, the Connection Agreement does not create any new objects in Active Directory, but replication between existing objects still occurs. You can configure what type of object is created when you replicate a mailbox that does not have a primary Windows account.
Important Only designate one Connection Agreement as the primary Connection Agreement for each container in an Exchange organization or Windows domain. If you designate more than one primary Connection Agreement, duplicate accounts may be created in the destination directories.
