Designate a Primary Connection Agreement

Primary Connection Agreements replicate existing directory objects and create new directory objects in the destination directory. A Connection Agreement that is not primary replicates information only to pre-existing objects.

Important   To ensure new objects are created, Connection Agreements are designated as primary Connection Agreements by default.

To modify the primary Connection Agreement settings for a Connection Agreement:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Connector.
  2. In the details pane, double-click the Connection Agreement for which you want to select replication options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, do one or both of the following:

Important   Only designate one Connection Agreement as the primary Connection Agreement for each container in an Exchange organization or Windows domain. If you designate more than one primary Connection Agreement, duplicate accounts may be created in the destination directories.
