Select an Authentication Type
You can set the type of you want to use for each
Connection Agreement.
To select an authentication type:
- If you have not yet opened the Connection Agreement in Active
Directory Connector, do the
following:
- On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to
Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory
Connector.
- In the details pane, double-click the Connection Agreement for
which you want to select an authentication type
- .
- On the Connections tab, under Windows Server
information, in Authentication, select one of the
following authentication types:
- Windows Challenge/Response
Enable authentication using Windows network security.
- Windows Challenge/Response using SSL
Enable authentication using Windows network security through a
(SSL)-encrypted
channel.
- Basic (Clear-Text) using SSL
Enable authentication using clear text through an SSL-encrypted
channel.
- Under Exchange Server information, in
Authentication, select one of the following authentication
types:

- Windows Challenge/Response
Enable authentication using Windows network security.
- Windows Challenge/Response using SSL
Enable authentication using Windows network security through an
SSL-encrypted channel.
- Basic (Clear-Text) using SSL
Enable authentication using clear text through an SSL-encrypted
channel.
