Specify Authentication Credentials

For each Connection Agreement, you must specify authentication credentials. You do this after you have selected the authentication type for the bridgehead servers. The account you enter allows you to connect to the necessary Exchange 5.5 and Windows directories.

The permissions account defined for each bridgehead server only requires write permissions for its directory if the bridgehead server is writing changes to this directory. For example:

In a two-way replication, the specified Exchange and Windows authentication type and credentials must be able to write to and read from the Exchange directory and Active Directory. In a one-way replication, the authentication type and credentials must have read access to the export directory from which the information is replicated from and write access to the import directory to which the information is replicated.

To select the account names to use in the Connection Agreement:

  1. If you have not yet opened the Connection Agreement in Active Directory Connector, do the following:
    1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Connector.
