Select the Bridgehead Servers

For each Connection Agreement, you need to define a bridgehead server in both directories. In Active Directory, the bridgehead server must be a domain controller. In the Exchange directory, the bridgehead server must be running Exchange 5.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (SP3 is recommended). ADC uses the directories on the bridgehead servers for replicating directory information.

To select the bridgehead servers:

  1. If you have not yet opened the Connection Agreement in ADC, do the following:
    1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Connector.
    2. In the details pane, double-click the Connection Agreement for which you want to select the servers.
    3. .
  2. On the Connections tab, under Windows Server information, type the name of the Windows 2000 Server used in this Connection Agreement. (The specified server must be the domain controller containing the schema.)
  3. Under Exchange Server information, type the name of the Exchange 5.5 server running 5.5 SP1 (SP3 recommended) to use in this Connection Agreement.
