The IRC Kill command is used to close a client-server
connection and is issued from a chat client. Only a chat administrator or chat
sysop can issue a Kill command.
A channel operator can issue the IRC Kick command from a
chat client to forcibly remove a user from a channel.
To issue the Kill command:
Log on to the server as a chat administrator or chat sysop
using a chat client.
Type the Killnicknamechannelnamecomment command.
/kill jr3
Note In many chat clients,
you must precede IRC commands with a forward slash.
To Kick a user from a registered or auto-start
channel:
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click
System Manager.
Navigate to the folder
for the chat community where you want to forcibly remove a user
from a dynamic channel.
Chat Communities
Chat_community_name
Right-click the Chat Community folder, and then click
Properties.
On the chat community's Channels tab, verify that the
Chat Sysop joins as owner check box is selected.
Log on to the server as a chat administrator or chat sysop
using a chat client and join the channel.
Type the Kickchannelnamenicknamecomment command.
/kick #mychannel jr3
Note The results of the
Kill or Kick commands are not permanent. If you want
to keep a user off the chat community permanently, other methods,
such as a user ban or user class, may be more useful.
