Move Transcripts to a Different Location

The default location for a chat transcript is:   [drive]:\Exchsrvr\ChatData\Transcript.

However, you can relocate these files.

To change the location where the server stores the channel transcripts:

Important   If you change the location of a transcript directory, you must stop and then restart the chat service to activate the change.

1. Start System Manager
   On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2. Navigate to the IRCX folder for the server hosting the chat community where you are transcribing conversations.

   Servers

   1. Server_name
   2. Protocols
   3. IRCX
3. Right-click IRCX, and then click Properties.
4. On the IRCX Properties General tab, choose the chat community where you want to transcribe conversations from the list, and then click Properties.
5. Click Extensions, select the Channel Transcription extension, and then click Properties.
6. On the Community TScript Properties General tab, in Default location, type a new location for the transcript directories (for example, "C:\Transcripts").

Tip   You can also use the following command from a chat client to designate an alternate location:

EXTMSG TSCRIPT SET DIRECTORY=directory_name
