Check Real-Time Performance

To check real-time performance, use the Performance Monitor chart window. You select an object to monitor and then add counters for the object. You can also add multiple counters for an object. Each counter you add appears as a graph line in the chart.

To monitor real-time performance:

  1. Start Performance
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Performance.
  2. In the console tree, click System Monitor, and then click + (Add) on the toolbar.
  3. In Select counters from computer, select the server you want to monitor.
  4. In Performance Object, click Microsoft Exchange Chat Service.
  5. Click Select counters from list, click a counter, and then click Add. To add several counters at the same time, hold down the CTRL key while you select the counters.
  6. Click Close.
  7. To adjust the scale on a counter, double-click the counter name at the bottom of the screen. Select the Scale box, and then choose a scale.

To add a counter to the chart:

  1. Right-click any counter name at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click Add Counters.

To remove a counter:

  1. Double-click the counter name at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click X (Delete).
