Restrict Channel Access to Authenticated Users

When a user attempts to join a channel that is restricted to authenticated users, the user's identity must be verified using some form of authentication.

To restrict channel access to authenticated users only:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Channels folder for the chat community where you want to restrict channel access.

    Chat Communities

    1. Chat_community_name
    2. Channels
  3. Click the Channels folder.
  4. In the Details pane, right-click the channel to be restricted, and then click Properties, or create a registered channel.
  5. On the channel's Access tab, select the Authenticated users check box.
  6. Set up user authentication for prospective channel users.
