Hosting Chat Communities

Set the Maximum IP Connections

You can reduce the frequency of clone attacks on a chat community by limiting the number of connections per IP address within a user class. This limit does not affect sysops and chat administrators.

To limit the number of connections per IP address:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Create a user class for the chat community where you want to limit the number of connections per IP address, or select an existing user class and modify it.
  3. Navigate to the Classes folder.
