If you want to prevent specific words from being displayed in
channel messages, you must create a list of those words, and then
use the Profanity Filter extension to apply the list to
conversations on the channel.
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click
System Manager.
Navigate to the
Channels folder in the chat community where you want to
connect the filter.

Click the Channels folder.
In the Details pane, right-click the channel where the filter
will be connected, and then click Properties.
On the channel's Extensions tab, verify that the
Profanity Filter extension appears.
Note The channel's
Extensions tab lists all of the installed extensions for the
chat community in which this channel is defined.
If the Profanity Filter extension does not appear, navigate to the IRCX folder for
the server that hosts the chat community where you want to filter
offensive language.

If the Profanity Filter extension does appear, go to step
13.
Right-click IRCX, and then click Properties.
Choose the chat community where you want to filter chats from
the list.
Click Properties, then click Extensions.
If the Profanity Filter extension does not appear in the
Extensions list, click Add.
In Add Extension, select the Profanity Filter extension
from the list.
Right-click IRCX, click Properties, and then
click Extensions.
On the Extensions tab, the Profanity Filter extension
now appears in the list of extensions connected to the chat
community. The order in which the extensions appear determines each
extension's priority; the order in which the server uses the
extension.
Note Priority determines the
order in which Chat Service notifies a server extension of an
event. An extension with a higher priority can prevent events from
reaching Chat Service or server extensions with a lower
priority.
Consider a chat server running both the Profanity
Filter and Transcription extensions. If the priority of the
Profanity Filter extension is higher than the priority of the
Transcription extension, then profanity is blocked before it
reaches the Transcription extension, preventing it from becoming a
part of the transcript.
In Extensions, you can click Move up or Move
down to change the priority of the Profanity Filter
extension.
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click
System Manager.
Navigate to the
Channels folder in the chat community where you want to
connect the filter.
