Supporting Messaging Clients

Associate a Certificate with the Server

If you want POP3 clients to read mail on a secure connection, you must associate a certificate with the server. Once a certificate is installed, you can require that communication is secure by using encryption.

Note   If the Exchange server is remotely administered, both secure communication options are unavailable. If the server is locally administered, a certificate must be installed before the Communication option is available.

To associate a certificate with the server:

  1. Install a certificate.
  2. Require encryption.
