Integrated Windows Authentication

This security option, which is enabled by default, requires IMAP4 clients to have a valid Windows 2000 user account name and password to access information. Instead of prompting users for their account name and password when they log on to an IMAP4 virtual server, the users' Windows logon credentials are automatically relayed to the server. The Windows credentials are the user names and passwords users supply when they log on to Windows. Relaying Windows credentials allows the server to authenticate users without requesting information from them or transmitting unencrypted information across the network.
