Require a Secure Channel

If you select this option, all information transmitted across the network is encrypted. This option is available only when a certificate is associated with the IMAP4 virtual server.

To require a secure channel:

1. Start System Manager
   on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2. Navigate to IMAP4.

   2. Administrative group
   3. Servers
   4. Server
   5. Protocols
   6. IMAP4
3. In the console tree, right-click a virtual server, and then click Properties.
4. On the Access tab, click Communication.
5. Click Require secure channel.
6. If 128-bit encryption is supported on the computer hosting the IMAP4 virtual server, click Require 128 bit encryption, and then click OK.
