Limited only by the resources of the computer, a virtual server can accept an unlimited number
of inbound connections. To prevent a computer from becoming
overloaded, you can limit the number of connections that can be
made to the IMAP4 virtual server at one time. You can also limit
the length of time that idle connections remain logged on to the
server.
By default, Exchange does not limit the number of incoming
connections and disconnects idle sessions after 30 minutes.
In the console tree, right-click a virtual server, and then
click Properties.
On the General tab, click Limit number of connections
to, and then type an integer between 1 and 999999999.
In Connection time-out, type the number of minutes that
can elapse before idle connections are disconnected.
Warning
Setting the time-out too low can cause clients to be unexpectedly
disconnected from the server and possibly receive error messages.
Thirty minutes is the lowest recommended time-out setting.
