Pause an IMAP4 Virtual Server

Pausing a virtual server allows it to be taken out of service with minimal user disruption. When paused, the IMAP4 virtual server continues to support existing client connections but refuses new client session requests. Administrators can still monitor the virtual server while it is paused. As users stop and restart their session access, users connect to alternate servers that are configured to provide IMAP4 access.

To pause an IMAP4 virtual server:

  1. Start System Manager
on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to IMAP4.
