Set Up a Newsgroup Topology

When you install Windows 2000, NNTP Service is automatically started. You may need to change NNTP service settings to address various situations, such as configuring the service to start manually for troubleshooting purposes. Similarly, an NNTP virtual server is automatically started when you install Exchange. You can also customize the virtual server's settings and create other instances of NNTP virtual servers. Once NNTP Service is running and the NNTP server is started, you can create newsgroup folders and send and receive messages from other newsgroups by creating newsfeeds.
