Rebuild an NNTP Virtual Server

When you rebuild an NNTP virtual server, NNTP Service updates the index and hash table files, which are used to keep track of articles on the virtual server. You need to rebuild an NNTP virtual server after you manually delete files, when you are recovering the system from a disk failure, or when you have problems accessing articles. In addition, some of the error messages written to the Event Viewer system log will prompt you to rebuild the virtual server.

Note   Before you rebuild an NNTP virtual server, you must stop the virtual server.

To rebuild an NNTP virtual server:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to NNTP.
