Add a Storage Group

Exchange supports multiple databases contained within a storage group. A storage group includes one to five databases and one set of transaction log files for all databases in the storage group.

To add a storage group:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Open the Servers container in the console tree.

    Administrative Group or Organization

    1. Servers
  3. Right-click the server to which you want to add a storage group, point to New, and then click Storage Group.
  4. On the General tab, set the following properties:
