Configuring Information Stores

Mount an Information Store

When a store is created, Exchange gives you the option to mount it. If you choose not to mount the store when it is created, you can manually mount it later by using the Mount Store command.

Information stores can be dismounted for administrative purposes such as maintenance.

To mount an information store:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Open the Servers container in the console tree.

    1. Administrative Group or Organization
    2. Servers
  3. Choose the server containing the store you want to mount.
  4. Open the storage group containing the store.
  5. Right-click the store and then click Mount Store.
