With Exchange, when importing user data from GroupWise to
Exchange, you can choose to import users in three different ways:
as users, security-disabled users, or contacts. Use the Import
Container tab to specify a container in which to import
GroupWise recipients.
Note Once you select an
import container, you cannot remove the container.
This option creates a Windows user account for
the user, but disables it. A GroupWise user with this account will
receive e-mail at their GroupWise mailbox. Although the user cannot
log on to Windows 2000 resources by default, the account can be
enabled using the Active Directory Users and Computers
snap-in.
This option creates an active Windows user
account for the user. A GroupWise user with this account will still
receive e-mail at their GroupWise mailbox but they are not
mailbox-enabled. However, they can log on to
Windows 2000 resources with this account.
This option creates the user as a contact. The
GroupWise user will receive e-mail at their GroupWise mailbox. They
will not be able to access Windows 2000 resources.
Important
If you create a Windows user, you cannot change a user to a contact
or vice-versa using this option. To make this change, you must
manually delete the contact or user and then perform the import
function again.
