Before you install a connector to the partner system or Calendar
Connector, you must first prepare your environment by checking
system requirements and understanding implementation
considerations.
Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server with Service Pack 1 - Enterprise
Edition
128 megabytes (MB) of RAM on the computer running Calendar
Connector
Note On at least one Exchange
server that contains a free and busy public folder replica for the
administration group, you must install Calendar
Connector.
You must have the following permissions to
install and administer Calendar Connector:
Schema Administrator and Exchange Administrator permissions to
install the first Calendar Connector in your organization, because
you will be modifying the Active Directory schema to add new
classes and attributes required by Calendar Connector
Exchange Administrator permissions to install Calendar
Connector on additional Exchange servers
Windows 2000 Administrator permissions on the server where you
are installing Calendar Connector
The system requirements for running Lotus
Notes are the same as those for a connector for Lotus Notes.
You must have Lotus Domino Server version 4.5 or later,
installed on the Intel platform only.
If you are using Lotus Domino Server version 4.5 or later on
non-Intel platform, you must use another Intel Lotus Domino server
as a bridgehead calendar server.
If you install the Calendar Connector on the same computer as
the Connector for Lotus Notes, you can use the same ID file.
The server requirements for running Novell
GroupWise are the same as those for a connector for GroupWise:
Novell Netware version 3.0 or later
GroupWise version 4.1 API Gateway, NLM version only
Novell Netware Administrator
Novell GroupWise Server, version 4.x or 5.x
To support mail connectivity, you will need the Simple Mail
Transfer protocol (SMTP) gateway (for GroupWise 4.x-5.1) or
the Internet Agent (for GroupWise 5.2-5.x)
Note You do not need to
install any additional software to administer Calendar Connector
remotely. You can administer the connector locally or remotely
using Microsoft Exchange System Manager.
