Directory Synchronization Control Files

The synchronization process uses control files—schema definition files and mapping rule files—which are located in subfolders of the Conndata folder. You can customize how attributes in one directory are mapped to another directory by editing one or more of these files. Before you edit these files, verify that directory synchronization is not active. In addition, you must stop the connector services.

Novell GroupWise Files

The following tables show the schema definition and mapping rule files that define directory attributes for Novell GroupWise.

Schema Definition Files
GroupWise schema attributes Conndata\Dxagwise\Gwamap.tbl
Exchange schema attributes (for GroupWise) Conndata\Dxagwise\Mexamap.tbl
Mapping Rule Files
Exchange to GroupWise mapping rule file Conndata\Dxagwise\Mapmex.tbl
GroupWise to Exchange mapping rule file Conndata\Dxagwise\Mapgwise.tbl

Lotus Notes Files

The following tables show the schema definition and mapping rule files that define directory attributes for Lotus Notes.

Schema Definition Files
Notes schema attributes Conndata\Dxanotes\Amap.tbl
Exchange schema attributes (for Notes) Conndata\Dxamex\Amap.tbl
Mapping Rule Files
Exchange to Notes mapping rule file Conndata\Dxanotes\Mapmex.tbl
Notes to Exchange mapping rule file Conndata\Dxamex\Mapnotes.tbl

If you edit these files using Notepad or another text editor, save backup copies of the files shipped with the product.

Important   Do not use the TAB key when making changes. All white-space characters should be entered using the SPACEBAR key.

If you add attributes to the default set of synchronized attributes or change the way attributes are mapped to one another, you need to do a complete directory reload in one or both directions.
