Connecting to Other Messaging Systems

Enable the Archive Directory

A principal tool that you can use in troubleshooting is the Archive directory. This queue is used to archive messages flowing through the GroupWise connector, primarily to capture damaged messages. You can enable the Archive directory to troubleshoot when users aren't receiving messages, are getting non-delivery reports (NDRs), or are receiving corrupted messages.

To enable the Archive directory:

  1. Stop the Connector for Novell GroupWise service, and the Microsoft Exchange Router for Novell GroupWise service.
  2. Start Regedit.exe on the Exchange server where the GroupWise connector is installed.
  3. Open the following registry key:
  4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LME-GWISE\Parameters

  5. From the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value. Name the DWORD "Archive" and give it a value of 1.
  6. Restart the connector services and the Router for Novell GroupWise service will automatically create the Archive directory and archive all items sent between GroupWise and Exchange. This includes all directory synchronization, information, and regular messages.

Note   Activating the archive feature and allowing it to continue indefinitely fills the hard disk with archived items. If the hard disk has less than 25 MB of memory left, various services will shut down.
