Create an External Foreign Domain
in GroupWise 5.x
The External Foreign Domain is the location in GroupWise into
which Exchange users are propagated. All changes made in Exchange
will be propagated to the designated GroupWise Foreign Domain.
Changes made directly to users imported from Exchange by the
GroupWise system administrator are overwritten by the GroupWise
connector.
After you create the domain, you need to select the API gateway
as the link between Exchange and GroupWise.
To create an external foreign domain for the Exchange
organization and configure the link table:
In NetWare Administrator, from the Tools menu, click
GroupWise View, and then click Mail System.
On the Object menu, click Create, and then click
External Domain.
Type an external domain name that matches the default recipient
policy name in Exchange and repeat for other policies if necessary.
The name is the first part of the GWISE proxy address on each
Exchange organization. You can edit the name in the E-Mail
Addressing tab of Recipient Policies. The default name
is Exchange.
In Domain Type, click External Foreign.
In Database Version, select 4.x (to match the API
gateway).
Be sure that Time Zone is set to the same time zone used
by the Exchange server that runs the GroupWise connector.
Click Create.
In NetWare Administrator, select the GroupWise domain that is
performing directory synchronization with Exchange. This is the
domain containing the API gateway.
On the Tools menu, click GroupWise Utilities, and
then click Link Configuration.
In Link Configuration Tool, click the newly created
external domain. On the Edit menu, click Link.
On the Edit menu, click Link.
In Link Type, select Gateway.
In Gateway Link, select the API gateway that connects to
Exchange, and then click OK.
