Connecting to Other Messaging Systems

Limit the Size of Messages That Can Pass Through the Connector

You can specify a size limit for incoming and outgoing messages that pass through the Notes connector. Setting a maximum message size can reduce the amount of mail traffic across your network. If the maximum size is exceeded, the message is returned to the originator with a non-delivery report.

To limit the size of messages that can pass through the connector:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to Connectors.

  3. Right-click Connector for Lotus Notes (server_name), and then click Properties.
  4. On the Advanced tab, under Message size, click Maximum (KB).
  5. Type the size limit in the box. By default, there is no limit to the size of a message that is allowed to pass through the connector.
