Specify Export Containers

Export containers contain Exchange recipient addresses that you want to export to Notes Name and Address Books when you run directory synchronization. Notes E-mail Address Generator creates a Notes address, based on the defined address rule, for each exported Exchange recipient.

Important   If you need to create a container, use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

To specify the export containers:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to Connectors.

    Organization

    1. Connectors
  3. Right-click Connector for Lotus Notes (server_name), and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Export Containers tab.
  5. To export contacts to Notes, select Export contacts. Groups are exported by default.
  6. Export contacts and Export groups allow you to choose which Exchange recipients you want to make known to the Lotus Notes system. More...

Exporting groups to Notes enables Notes users to address messages to a group of Exchange users by specifying the name of the group as a message recipient. When the Exchange server receives the message, it distributes the message to each Exchange user who is a member of the group.

Tip   If you want to export only users, clear Export contacts and Export groups.

  7. Click Add to select an export container.
  8. In Choose a container, open the domain node, and then select the container.

Tip   If the domain where the connector is running is connected to a trusted domain, you can export organizational units (OUs) belonging to the trusted domain.

If you remove an organizational unit that has been designated as an export container from Active Directory, the connector will automatically remove the OU from the list of export containers.

If you need to stop the export of recipients in a container, select the container in the list of export containers, and then click Remove. This does not remove the container from Active Directory.
