Managing Recipient Settings

Enable HTTP Support

HTTP is the underlying protocol used by the World Wide Web. HTTP defines how messages are formatted and sent, and how Web servers and browsers respond to various commands. To make a mailbox accessible through a Web browser using Outlook Web Access, you must enable HTTP on that mailbox.

To enable HTTP:

  1. Start Active Directory Users and Computers
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the View menu, click Advanced Features.
  3. In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain. Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains the recipient information you want to modify.
  4. In the details pane, double-click the mailbox-enabled user you are modifying.
  5. On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Protocol Settings.
  6. In the Protocols dialog box, under Protocols, select HTTP, and then click Settings.
  7. In the HTTP Protocol Details dialog box, select the Enable for mailbox check box.
