If a mailbox-enabled user can interpret HTML, select the MIME
encoding option, Provide message body as HTML. When
selected, this option allows messages to display graphics, support
links to other documents, and retain character formatting.
Important
When you select the MIME encoding option, Provide message
body as HTML, you cannot select Microsoft Exchange rich-text
format.
To configure IMAP4 protocol settings using the HTML MIME
option:
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then
click Active Directory Users and Computers.
In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the
View menu, click Advanced Features.
In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain.
Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains
the recipient information you want to modify.
In the details pane, double-click the mailbox-enabled user you
want to modify.
On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Protocol
Settings.
In the Protocols dialog box, select IMAP4, and
then click Settings.
In the IMAP4 Protocol Details dialog box, select the
Enable for mailbox check box, and then click to clear the
Use protocol defaults check box.
To display received messages as HTML, under MIME
encoding, select Provide message body as HTML.
In the Default character set drop-down list, select a
character set.
To include public folders when the mailbox-enabled user
requests a folder list, select the Include all public folders
when a folder list is requested check box.
By default, Exchange increases the speed of message retrieval
by approximating message sizes. To support e-mail clients that
require exact message size reporting, click to clear the Enable
fast message retrieval check box.
