When you select the MIME option of Both, a plain
text and HTML version are generated in a MIME multi-part
alternative message. If a user cannot read one format, the other is
available.
Important
When you select the MIME option of Both, you cannot
select the UUEncode or Microsoft Exchange rich-text
format options.
To configure POP3 settings using the Both MIME option:
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then
click Active Directory Users and Computers.
In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the
View menu, click Advanced Features.
In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain.
Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains
the recipient information you want to modify.
In the details pane, double-click the mailbox-enabled user you
are configuring POP3 settings for.
On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Protocol
Settings.
In the Protocols dialog box, select POP3, and
then click Settings.
In the POP3 Protocol Details dialog box, select the
Enable for mailbox check box, and then click to clear the
Use protocol defaults check box.
To display received messages as both plain text and HTML, under
Message encoding, select MIME, and then select
Both.
In the Default character set drop-down list, select a
character set.
