If a mailbox-enabled user can interpret HTML, select the
MIME option of Provide message body as HTML. When
selected, this option allows messages to display graphics, support
links to other documents, and retain character formatting.
Important
When you select the MIME option of Provide message body
as HTML, you cannot select the UUEncode or Microsoft
Exchange rich-text format options.
To configure POP3 settings using the HTML MIME option:
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then
click Active Directory Users and Computers.
In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the
View menu, click Advanced Features.
In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain.
Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains
the recipient information you want to modify.
In the details pane, double-click the mailbox-enabled user you
are configuring POP3 settings for.
On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Protocol
Settings.
In the Protocols dialog box, select POP3, and
then click Settings.
In the POP3 Protocol Details dialog box, select the
Enable for mailbox check box, and then click to clear the
Use protocol defaults check box.
To display received messages as HTML, under Message
encoding, select MIME, and then select Provide
message body as HTML.
In the Default character set drop-down list, select a
character set.
