Managing Recipient Settings

Select Maximum Size of Incoming Messages

For mailbox-enabled users, you can set the size limit for an incoming message by either using default limits or selecting the maximum size of the incoming message in kilobytes (KB). Since maximum message size limits are set on the mailbox-enabled user's Properties dialog box, you can set different maximum size limits for different users.

Note   The default maximum size limit of incoming messages is defined in the Global Settings node in Exchange System Manager.

To select the maximum size limit of incoming messages:

  1. Start Active Directory Users and Computers
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain. Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains the recipient information you want to modify.
  3. In the details pane, double-click the mailbox-enabled user you are modifying.
  4. On the Exchange General tab, click Delivery Restrictions.
  5. In the Delivery Restrictions dialog box, under Receiving message size, select Maximum KB, and then type the maximum incoming message size, in kilobytes (KB).
