Managing Recipient Settings

Set Simple Display Name

You can set a simple display name for all mailbox-enabled and mail-enabled recipients. The simple display name is used by systems that cannot interpret all of the characters in a normal display name. For this reason, you should specify a simple display name that uses non-ANSI characters, such as kanji.

To set a simple display name:

  1. Start Active Directory Users and Computers
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the View menu, click Advanced Features.
  3. In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain. Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains the recipient information you want to modify.
  4. In the details pane, double-click the recipient you are modifying.
  5. On the Exchange Advanced tab, in Simple display name, type a name.
