By default, one e-mail recipient policy, called the default policy, is created for each domain in your Exchange 2000 organization. In addition, policies are created for each Exchange Server 5.5 site for reverse compatibility. You can modify Exchange 2000 recipient policies to meet the needs of your organization, reduce network traffic, and more efficiently use disk space usage. However, you cannot modify or delete default policies created for Exchange 5.5 sites.
