Revert to Original Template Settings

If you have changed the appearance of a details template by adding, removing, or modifying template control types, you can return to the template settings that were in place when you first installed Exchange 2000 Server. Reverting to the original template permanently overwrites any changes you or another administrator made to a template.

To revert to the original details template:

1. Start System Manager
   On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2. In the console tree, double-click Recipients, double-click Details Templates to expose the language list, and then double-click a language.
3. In the details pane, double-click the template you are modifying.
4. In the Properties dialog box, perform one of the following tasks:

5. Note   The MS-DOS Templates tab is used the same way as the Templates tab. However, the MS-DOS Templates tab applies to Windows 16-bit operating systems. The Templates tab applies to Windows 32-bit operating systems.

   • To add a template control for computers using Windows 32-bit operating systems, click the Templates tab.
   • To add a template control for computers using Windows 16-bit operating systems, click the MS-DOS Templates tab.
6. To revert to the original template, click Original. To permanently overwrite all of the changes you or another administrator made to the template, when ask if you are sure you want to overwrite all template controls with the original template, click Yes.

7. Tip   To keep track of information concerning the template, click the Details tab. In Administrative note, type information about the reason you reverted to the original template settings, and then click Apply.
