Modify the Default SMTP Recipient Address

Default SMTP addresses for Exchange mailboxes are created according to the default recipient policy, an example of which is

To modify the default SMTP recipient address:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to Recipient Policies.

  3. In the details pane, right-click Default Policy, click Properties, and then click the E-Mail Addresses tab.
  4. Under Generation rules, select SMTP, and then click Edit.
  5. In Address, type the new default SMTP recipient address.
