Configuring Message Routing

Specify Accepted and Rejected Message Senders

The options on the Delivery Restrictions tab of a connector's properties enable you to accept or reject messages from any sender listed in the directory; for example, if a sender's address is in the Reject messages from details list, any messages from that sender are returned to the sender.

Note   Delivery restrictions are optional. The default is to accept all messages from all senders.

To specify message senders to accept or reject:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to Connectors.

  3. Right-click the connector you want, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Delivery Restrictions tab.
  5. Select one of the By default, messages from everyone are options. If you select Accepted, all messages from all senders are accepted except for messages from senders you specify as rejected in Reject messages from. If you select Rejected, all messages from all senders are rejected except for messages from senders you specify as accepted in Accept messages from.
  6. To specify message senders to accept or reject, under Accept messages from or Reject messages from, click Add.
  7. In the Select Recipient list, select any entry or type the name of the sender you want. You can enter multiple names by using semicolons as separators between the names.
