Configuring Message Routing

Specify X.400 Conformance

The Advanced tab options allow you to specify X.400 conformance to 1984 recommendations, 1988 X.410 recommendations, or 1988 normal recommendations. The default is conformance to 1988 normal recommendations. If you choose 1984 conformance, you must configure the remote X.400 global domain identifier.

Important   X.400 conformance configuration primarily affects outbound messages; therefore, it is important that the specified X.400 conformance mode matches the conformance of the remote system.

To specify X.400 conformance:

  1. Start System Manager
on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
