Add Instant Messaging Service

If you didn't install Exchange Instant Messaging Service with your initial installation of Exchange 2000 Server, you can add it later.

To add Instant Messaging Service:

1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. On the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. In Add/Remove Programs, next to Microsoft Exchange 2000, double-click Change/Remove to start Microsoft Exchange 2000 Installation Wizard.
4. Click Next.
5. Select the Microsoft Exchange 2000 component, and then click Change.
6. Select the Microsoft Exchange Instant Messaging Services component, click Add, and then click Next.
7. Type the Service Account password, and then click Next.
8. Click Next again to confirm your selection, and then complete the wizard.
