Check the Server Load

Performance Monitor enables you to check the load on an Instant Messaging home server.

Note   To check the load on an Instant Messaging home server, Instant Messaging Service must be active.

To check the server load:

1. Start Performance
   On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Performance.
2. In the console tree, click System Monitor, and then click + (Add) on the toolbar.
3. In Select counters from computer, select the server you want to examine.
4. In Performance Object, click the MSExchangeIM Virtual Servers object.

5. Note   To check the load on Instant Messaging Service, click the MSExchangeIM object.

6. Click Select counters from list.
7. Click the Current Users Online counter.
8. Click Select instances from list, select the server, and then click Add.
9. Repeat the previous step for the Current Subscriptions counter.
10. Click Close.
