Maintaining and Troubleshooting

Restore the System Drive

If a disaster occurs and your entire Exchange server fails, you must review the requirements for disaster recovery, and the recovery guidelines. Then reinstall Windows 2000 before restoring your system drive.

If you made full backups of other drives holding critical data or applications, you should restore these backups too.

To restore a system drive:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Backup.
  2. On the Restore tab, double-click the media file with the date that you want to restore files from. Select the check box for each drive that you want to restore.
  3. Click Start Restore.
