Migrating to Exchange

Install the Lotus Notes client Software

Use the following procedure to install Lotus Notes version 4.5.2 or later client program on the computer running Exchange that you are using for migration. This is required because Migration Wizard uses some of the Lotus Notes client files to connect to the Lotus Notes server.

To install the Lotus Notes client:

  1. Install the Lotus Notes client from the Lotus Notes installation point.
  2. Click Standard Install, and follow the installation instructions.

In addition to installing the Lotus Notes client, you need to add the Lotus Notes client directory to the system path of the computer. For Lotus Notes R5, the default directory is C:\Lotus\Notes. For earlier versions of Notes, the default directory is C:\Notes.

To add to the system path of a computer running Windows 2000 Server:

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Environmental Variables.
  3. In System Variables, click Path, and then click Edit.
  4. In Variable Value, add the Lotus Notes client directory to the system path.
