Managing Public Folders

Add a Session for Free and Busy Replication

Replication Agent uses only one configuration file. This file can contain a combination of several public folder and free and busy sessions. A session defines replication settings for one folder or one free and busy subscriber.

Note   For the complete set of steps required to create a configuration file and add sessions, see Create a Configuration File.

To add a session for free and busy replication:

  1. Make sure you have started the Exscfg.exe program saved on the publisher or subscriber server.
  2. On the Session menu, click Add.
  3. In Select Session Type, click Schedule+ Free/Busy Replication.
  4. Type a display name for the session.
  5. In Maximum Task Number, enter the number of threads to use in replication. Do not use more threads than the number of sites or administrative groups for which you are replicating free and busy information.
  6. Note   As you increase the number of threads, the load on the server increases. This can reduce server performance.

  7. Click Schedule, and then type the time for each replication session to begin.
  8. For Publisher Organization, in Server, type the name of the publisher server, and then in Mailbox, type the mailbox to log on to. If the replication service account does not have permissions to this mailbox, click Advanced, click Use Alternate NT Account, and then type the username, password, and domain name of an account that is permitted to log on to the mailbox.
  9. Repeat step 6 for Subscriber Organization.
