Queue Viewer

Remote Administration

Queue Viewer is particularly useful if your Exchange organization branches out into multiple administrative or routing groups. With Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, you can manage the queues of all of your servers from a single workstation. You can access queues on any machine in the Exchange organization for which you have rights and network connectivity.

Note   Though most organizations will see a need to perform a certain level of remote administration, other organizations with higher security needs may not. For example, some businesses or institutions whose servers contain very private information might set up security so that only the administrative group with direct access to the physical server can perform maintenance or troubleshooting on the queues. Organizations need to be sure administrators have the necessary permissions to perform their tasks.
