The custom message filter allows you to delete, enumerate,
freeze, or unfreeze one or more messages within a queue. The
messages are selected by the criteria you define in Custom
Filter.
Right-click the queue, and then click Custom
Filter.
In Custom Filter, on the Action drop-down menu,
select Enumerate, Delete (send NDR), Freeze,
or Unfreeze.
Select your filter criteria:
To perform the selected action on the first, largest, or oldest
n messages currently in the queue, click Select only.
Use the Number of messages field to define n.
To perform the selected action on messages with specific
characteristics, click Select messages with the following.
Fill in some or all of the fields as necessary to define your
filter.
To perform the selected action on every message currently in
the queue, click Select all messages. (Remember that queues
are dynamic and messages can enter and exit the queue quickly.) The
default enumeration command is for the first 100 messages, for
example. So if you had more than 100 messages in a queue, you could
use the Select all messages option to enumerate them
all.
(Optional) To set this custom filter as your default filter,
click Set as default filter.
Note Queue Viewer
functionality varies depending on the transport protocol being
used. SMTP, X.400, and the MAPI-based connector queues may not
support all of the items in Custom Filter. If a menu item is
unavailable, or if an action does not appear in the drop-down menu,
that means the queue does not support that operation.
