Advanced Security in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server consists of
Encryption Configuration. Every administrative group in
Exchange contains this object. If an administrative group does not
already contain a Key Management server, Encryption Configuration
allows you to select one from elsewhere in your organization. This
component is also where you set the preferred encryption algorithms
for your users' key pairs and the security message
format they will use.
Key Manager. This component accesses the Exchange
Key Management Service (KMS). KMS issues
and provides centralized management of keys in your organization.
It also works in conjunction with Windows 2000 Certificate Services
to provide your users with a complete public
key infrastructure (PKI) for secure messaging.
