Configuring Security

Choose the Key Management Server

In Exchange 2000, you can have one Key Management server per administrative group. If you have more than one administrative group, and one of them does not currently have a Key Management server, you can use Encryption Configuration to select an existing Key Management server to manage it.

To select a Key Management server for an administrative group:

  1. Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. In the console tree, double-click Advanced Security.
  3. In the details pane, right-click Encryption Configuration, and then click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, under Key Management Service location, click Change. Key Management servers are listed by the administrative groups they are located in.

Note   If you are in an administrative group that already has a Key Management server, this option will not be available.
