Use KMS

KMS in Exchange 2000 provides secure, centralized management of your PKI. Once KMS is installed, you can perform a number of administrative functions, including enrolling users, revoking certificates, and recovering keys.

Important   To perform any task in KMS, and to view any tab in the Key Manager Properties dialog box, you will be prompted for one or more administrator passwords.

Tip   To periodically save your Key Management database, use the Windows 2000 Backup utility. In the event of a system failure, you can use the Restore function to preserve your organization's certificates and keys with minimum administrative downtime.
