Set Basic Authentication for
Incoming Messages
To set Basic (clear text) authentication for incoming
messages:
- Start System Manager
On the Start menu, point to
Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click
System Manager.
- Navigate to the SMTP
virtual server.
- Servers
- Server
- Protocols
- SMTP
- SMTP virtual servers
- SMTP virtual server
- Right-click the SMTP virtual server, and then click
Properties.
- On the Access tab, under Access control, click
Authentication.
- In Authentication, select Basic
authentication.
- In Default domain, type a Windows domain name. This
default domain differs from the SMTP virtual server default
domain.
